Countries with the Fastest Internet 2026: The internet has become an everyday necessity for every individual today. From morning till night, we perform a multitude of tasks with the help of the internet—ranging from scrolling through social media to general web usage and streaming on OTT platforms. All these activities require a fast internet connection. But do you know which countries are leading the pack when it comes to the fastest internet speeds? Here, we present the top 10 countries in the world that are at the forefront of fixed broadband internet connectivity.

Singapore Takes the Number One Spot
According to the Speedtest Global Index report for April 2026, Singapore continues to hold the title of the country with the fastest fixed broadband internet in the world. An average download speed of 430.31 Mbps was recorded here, placing it significantly ahead of all other countries included in the list. Singapore has been consistently investing in digital infrastructure and high-speed connectivity for several years now.

UAE and France Are Not Far Behind
In this list, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) secures the second position with an average speed of 375.66 Mbps. Meanwhile, France has climbed one spot to claim the third position with a speed of 354.04 Mbps. Hong Kong ranks fourth with a speed of 350.73 Mbps.

Why India's Ranking is a Cause for Concern
India ranks 102nd on this list, with an average download speed of 61.7 Mbps. Compared to the previous rankings, India has slipped down by one position. Although the number of internet users in the country is growing rapidly and the fiber network is also expanding, the speed remains significantly low when compared to global competitive standards. While better internet connectivity is available in major cities, there is still a need to strengthen the network and broadband infrastructure in rural and remote areas. This is the reason why India currently appears to lag significantly behind the top-ranking nations.
