Telegram has launched a fully native app for the Apple Watch, offering a comprehensive suite of messaging features directly on Apple's wearable devices. This release marks the platform's return to watchOS after several years, as the company had previously discontinued its official smartwatch application. Users can now access conversations, send and receive messages, browse contacts, listen to voice messages, view stickers, play GIFs and videos, and share their location—all directly from their wrists. By bringing most of Telegram's core functionalities to the Apple Watch, the app delivers a vastly superior watchOS experience compared to merely receiving basic smartphone notifications.

**Native Apple Watch App Adds Chat and Media Features to Telegram**
Telegram founder and CEO Pavel Durov announced the launch via a post on the social media platform X, confirming the arrival of a fully native Telegram application for the Apple Watch.

According to reports following the announcement, users must first scan a QR code within the Telegram app on their iPhone to connect to the smartwatch app. The setup process mirrors that of signing in to Telegram's web or desktop clients. Users who have enabled an additional cloud password (two-step verification) on their accounts will need to complete that verification step before gaining access to the app.

Once the setup is complete, the Apple Watch app provides access to all contacts and existing chats. Users can then send and receive text messages, listen to voice messages, share location details, view stickers, and play GIFs and videos directly on the watch screen. It is worth noting that Telegram first introduced an Apple Watch app in 2015, but the software was later discontinued, and native watchOS support was removed. Now, the company has brought it back with this latest update. However, the company did not specifically highlight the Apple Watch app in its new App Store release notes, even though the feature arrived with the latest update. Reports indicate that this updated version is now rolling out in all regions where Telegram is available.

Until now, some Apple Watch users have relied on third-party applications to use Telegram on their devices. But with the launch of this new native app, the company has once again officially made its messaging platform available directly on watchOS.
