Although smartphones are incredibly capable these days and can perform many computer-related tasks, there are still many tasks that require a PC or laptop. But did you know that you can use your TV as a computer if you want? By doing this, you can save on the expense of a new PC or laptop. You only need a few things, like a keyboard and a mouse. Without further ado, let's explain how you can use your TV as a PC.

Get a Keyboard and Mouse
If you use a smart TV at home, you can use it like a PC by connecting a keyboard and mouse to the TV. To do this, you need to go to the Play Store on your smart TV and install a browser. After this, connect the mouse and keyboard to the TV and browse the internet on the TV. If you have MS Office-related work, you can easily access the online version of Office on the TV.

Turn a Computer Wirelessly
Samsung and Motorola smartphones offer PC mode. Google is also soon offering a similar feature on desktops. If you use smartphones from these brands, you can easily connect them to your TV and use them as a PC. Smartphones with these features can connect to your phone both wirelessly and wired. Samsung phones call this feature Dex, while Motorola phones call it Smart Connect. Google is introducing this feature on its Pixel smartphones under the name Desktop Mode. After connecting your phone to your TV with this feature, you'll see a PC-like interface on your TV, allowing you to perform normal browsing and computer tasks on your TV.

How to Turn a Non-Smart TV into a Computer
If you use a normal TV at home, you can use it to perform computer functions in various ways. As a first method, you can use your smartphone as a computer using its desktop mode by connecting it to your TV via an HDMI to Type-C cable. Smartphones that come with PC or desktop mode features offer both wireless and wired options for connecting to the larger screen. If you connect your phone to your TV via a wired HDMI to Type C cable, you can still use the phone's desktop mode.

Also, you can easily surf the internet on a non-smart TV using a device like the Fire Stick by installing a browser app. This requires using the device, along with a mouse and keyboard, to connect the device to the TV. This allows you to easily perform many PC-like tasks on your non-smart TV.
