Tech Tips: How to download your Aadhaar card on WhatsApp, learn the step-by-step method..

Aadhaar has now become one of the most essential identity documents for every Indian, required for everything from opening a bank account to purchasing a mobile SIM. As its importance continues to grow, UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) recently launched a new and secure way to access Aadhaar directly on WhatsApp.
This feature has been added to the government's official MyGov Helpdesk chatbot, which now allows users to securely download their password-protected digital Aadhaar. This feature works through DigiLocker integration, ensuring the digital Aadhaar is encrypted and accessible only to the rightful owner.
Requirements to download an Aadhaar card via WhatsApp:
A mobile number linked to Aadhaar.
An active DigiLocker account. If not, one can be easily created.
The MyGov Helpdesk WhatsApp number +91-9013151515 must be saved.
How to download Aadhaar via WhatsApp:
Save +91-9013151515 on your phone as 'MyGov Helpdesk'.
Open WhatsApp and send 'Hi' to this number.
When prompted, select DigiLocker Services.
Confirm if you already have a DigiLocker account.
Enter your Aadhaar number and verify with the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
After verification, the chatbot will show you a list of documents linked to your DigiLocker.
Select Aadhaar from this list, and your digital Aadhaar will be sent directly to WhatsApp in PDF format.
Note that only one document can be downloaded at a time, and only those documents already linked to your DigiLocker account will be accessible. If Aadhaar or any other document is not linked, users will first need to update their account through the DigiLocker app or website before the WhatsApp service will work.
