Tablet's Battery: These 3 mistakes drain your tablet's battery; are you making these mistakes while charging?
Tablet Battery Drain Reasons: Tablets are now being used in homes alongside mobile phones. They are used for children's studies, entertainment, and other tasks. However, many people make mistakes during charging that gradually weaken the battery. Most tablet batteries last for six to eight hours on a single charge. Over time, the battery's capacity decreases. If you charge it correctly, the battery will last longer. People commonly make three mistakes while charging their tablets, which should be avoided. Let's find out what these three mistakes are:
1. Charging overnight
A ZDNet report (Ref.) states that many people plug in their tablets before going to sleep and leave them charging until morning. This doesn't cause much of a problem with newer tablets, but in most tablets, doing this puts a strain on the battery. When the battery reaches 100 percent charge, charging stops. However, while still plugged in, a small amount of electricity continues to flow, causing the battery to heat up and reducing its lifespan. Doing this once or twice isn't a big problem, but doing it daily will cause the battery to deteriorate quickly. For daily use, keep the battery level between 20 and 80 percent. This will make the battery last longer.
2. Letting the battery completely drain
Sometimes we let the tablet battery drain to zero percent and then forget to charge it. Doing this repeatedly causes the battery to age very quickly. Most tablets have lithium-ion batteries, which start to deteriorate when not charged. If you are not going to use the tablet for a long time, charge the battery to 50 percent, turn it off, and store it in a safe place. For daily use, do not let the battery level drop below 20 percent. This will maintain good battery health.
3. Using the wrong charger
Many people buy cheap chargers. However, using the wrong or poor-quality charger damages the battery. Such chargers do not provide the correct amount of power, sometimes too much and sometimes too little. This can cause the tablet to overheat or put a strain on the battery. The charging port can also get damaged. The correct way is to use the charger that came with the tablet or a charger certified by the manufacturer. This will keep the battery safe and extend its lifespan.
