Special phone launched for the elderly: Features an SOS button and reads aloud in Hindi; priced very affordably..

itel has launched the new 'itel Care' mobile in the Indian market, specifically designed with the elderly in mind. The company developed this device to make it easier for senior citizens to make calls, read messages, and seek help during emergencies. Key features include a large display, large buttons, voice guidance, and a dedicated SOS button. Notably, the phone is priced at just ₹1,499. Let’s take a look at the device's features...

**itel Care Feature Phone Specifications**
In terms of specifications, the itel Care phone comes with a 2-inch magnified display. It also features large buttons and large interface icons, making it easier to view and dial numbers. The phonebook can store up to 500 contacts, and users can assign photos to contacts, allowing elderly users to easily identify who is calling.

**Dedicated SOS Button**
Furthermore, the new itel Care phone features a distinct red SOS button on the back. Pressing and holding it for about two seconds triggers an emergency alert message to up to five pre-saved contacts. This is followed by automated calls to these numbers one by one. This ensures that elderly users can easily reach out to family or close ones for assistance during an emergency.

**Voice-Enabled Menu**
The feature phone also includes a voice assistant named 'King Voice.' This assistant reads out menu options, incoming messages, and caller details aloud. It supports voice output in both Hindi and English. This feature is particularly helpful for users with impaired vision or those who find it difficult to read text on the screen.

Large Speaker and Large Battery
This mobile features a 2030 box speaker coupled with an audio power amplifier. It also includes AI ENC support to reduce ambient noise during calls, making it stand out. The phone is equipped with a 1,150mAh battery, a USB Type-C charging port, and a VGA camera accompanied by a dual-LED torch.

Additionally, the phone offers wireless FM radio (with recording capabilities), Bluetooth connectivity, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The device supports a single SIM and operates on 2G networks. It also allows for storage expansion up to 32GB via a microSD card.
