Smartphone: These are the best-selling smartphones! Are you looking for premium phones? Here's the list..
India's smartphone market performed exceptionally well in the September quarter of this year. According to a new report, the market recorded impressive growth of 5 percent by volume and 18 percent by value. This is also the highest quarterly value for the smartphone market ever. This list includes several phones that are being purchased the most. Let's check out the list.
The report suggests that this significant growth in the smartphone market is due to several reasons:
Festive demand: Festive seasons (such as Diwali) have significantly boosted smartphone sales.
Attractive discounts: Companies have offered numerous attractive discounts and offers to attract customers.
Interest in premium phones: Customers are now showing greater interest in purchasing expensive and feature-loaded premium smartphones.
Experts say that more and more customers are upgrading to premium smartphones. Consequently, the market's focus has shifted from simply measuring phone sales (volume) to the value (total revenue) of phones sold. The report also suggests that more customers are purchasing premium devices due to easy financing options and attractive trade-in offers. Prachir Singh, Senior Analyst at Counterpoint Research, said, "Improved domestic liquidity (meaning people have more money to spend) and the festive atmosphere led to strong sales in the September quarter."
Apple
With strong demand for Apple's iPhone 16 and iPhone 15 series, the company holds the number one position in the premium market with a 28 percent value share. The recently launched iPhone 17 series has also received a strong response from customers.
Samsung
After Apple, Samsung is second with a 23 percent value share. The company's Galaxy S and A series phones are a huge hit among consumers. Samsung's foldable phones have also recorded strong sales figures.
Vivo
In terms of shipments (number of phones sold), Vivo has emerged as India's top smartphone brand with a 20 percent market share, ousting iQOO.
Samsung
Samsung ranked second in terms of shipments with a 13 percent share.
Apple
For the first time, Apple has made it to the list of India's top five smartphone brands by volume. This indicates that India has now become the world's third-largest iPhone market, a significant achievement for Apple.
This report suggests that the Indian smartphone market is shifting toward more expensive phones, and consumer preferences are changing.
