See Only the Videos You Like on YouTube: Here’s How to Create a Personalized Feed
How to Customize Your YouTube Feed: On YouTube, videos will no longer be suggested to you solely based on the algorithm. Google has introduced a new feature that allows you to customize your feed according to your preferences.
How to Customize Your YouTube Feed: Often, after opening YouTube—despite the countless videos available—it feels as though there is nothing worth watching. This happens most frequently when YouTube's algorithm fails to suggest videos that align with your interests. Consequently, you may find yourself with no desire to tap on any of the videos appearing in your feed. However, relief from this frustration is now on the horizon. Google has announced a new feature for YouTube that will give users the option to customize their video feed. Let's take a look at how this feature works.
How Will the New Feature Work?
This feature has been named 'Your Custom Feed.' By entering a specific prompt, YouTube will generate a video feed tailored to the user's request. This personalized feed will appear on the user's YouTube homepage. The feature is currently being rolled out, starting with users in the United States. If it hasn't appeared in your feed yet, you may need to wait a little while longer; it is expected to be rolled out to all users over the coming weeks.
How to Watch Only the Videos You Like on YouTube?
This new feature operates with the assistance of AI. Users will need to enter a prompt—either highly specific or broad in scope—to define their interests. Google will also provide assistance to users during this process. To enable this feature, simply select the 'Customize Your Feed' option located at the top of the YouTube homepage. You will then be presented with a list of suggested prompts; alternatively, you have the option to enter a custom prompt of your own choosing. Based on the selected prompt, YouTube will begin populating your feed with relevant videos. If you are not satisfied with the videos displayed, you can generate a new custom feed at any time by entering a different prompt.
Identifying AI-Generated Content Will Become Easier
Alongside this feature, YouTube is expanding an existing functionality. In light of the surge of AI content on the platform, YouTube has announced that it will apply labels to videos containing AI-generated material. For certain specific types of content, this label will be permanent and cannot be removed. Previously, creators had the option to apply labels to AI content; now, if a creator fails to apply a label, YouTube's internal system will perform this task.
