Making digital payments in India has become faster and more convenient, and Samsung smartphones have taken a step further to simplify the experience. Samsung has introduced a built-in Scan QR feature in its camera app, allowing users to scan UPI QR codes directly without opening any third-party payment app.

This feature is especially useful for users who frequently make UPI payments and want a quicker, hassle-free way to pay merchants, shops, or individuals. With just a few taps, users can scan a QR code and complete payments securely using Samsung Pay or Pay Mini.

What Is Samsung’s Scan QR Feature?

The Scan QR feature is integrated directly into the Samsung Camera app. It enables users to scan any UPI QR code instantly and redirects them to a payment interface without needing to open Google Pay, PhonePe, or other UPI apps manually.

Users can access this feature either by:

  • Opening the Camera app and scanning the QR code, or

  • Enabling it from the Quick Panel for even faster access

This enhancement aligns with Samsung’s goal of making everyday tasks quicker while promoting digital payments across India.

Availability and Software Update Rollout

Samsung is rolling out the Scan QR feature through FOTA (Firmware Over-The-Air) updates. The update is being released in phases, meaning it may not be available on all eligible devices at once.

Users are advised to regularly check for software updates to ensure their device supports the feature.
