After the rain, the room often feels sticky, prompting most people to instinctively lower the AC temperature and switch to 'Cool Mode.' However, while this cools the room, the stickiness remains, and your electricity bill unnecessarily goes up! Your AC remote has a hidden button designed specifically for this weather. Let’s find out the right way to use your AC during the monsoon.

**Switch on 'Dry Mode'**
Look for an icon resembling a small water droplet on your AC remote. This mode functions like a dehumidifier; it extracts moisture from the air without significantly lowering the room temperature. This makes the air feel lighter and instantly eliminates stickiness. Since the compressor consumes less power in this mode, you also save significantly on your electricity bill.

**How long should you run Dry Mode?**
There is no need to run Dry Mode continuously all day or night; running it for just 1 to 2 hours is sufficient. Keeping it on for too long can make the room excessively dry, potentially leading to issues like dry skin, a sore throat, or coughing. You can turn off the AC or switch it back to normal mode once the humidity has been eliminated.

**Things to keep in mind when using Dry Mode**
Whenever you use Dry Mode, ensure that doors and windows are completely closed to prevent humid outside air from entering. Drying wet clothes inside the room during the monsoon increases humidity levels, forcing the AC to work twice as hard.

You can keep a small hygrometer in the room to measure humidity levels. A humidity level between 40% and 60% is considered the most comfortable.

Get relief from mold and dampness too.
Using the 'Dry Mode' correctly not only ensures a comfortable sleep but also protects your home's walls and furniture from mold and the musty odor caused by dampness.
