Redmi 15C Launched in India with 6.9-inch Display, 6000mAh Battery, and 5G Support; Price Starts at ₹12,499
Xiaomi has expanded its budget C-series in India with the launch of the Redmi 15C, an upgraded version of last year’s Redmi 14C. The new model features a large 6.9-inch HD+ display, a 6000mAh battery, 5G connectivity, and a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, targeting entry-level 5G users. It will compete with smartphones like the Realme P4x, Infinix Hot 60i, and Oppo K13.
Design & Build
The Redmi 15C comes with a plastic back panel and a square camera module, offering a fresh look for the budget segment. The front has a waterdrop-style notch, and the phone weighs 211g with a thickness of 8.05mm, providing good handling despite its large battery. It also carries IP64 certification for protection against dust and light splashes. A side-mounted fingerprint scanner ensures security, and Xiaomi retains the 3.5mm headphone jack, which is increasingly rare in this price range.
Display
The phone’s 6.9-inch HD+ display supports a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling, offering smooth scrolling and gaming performance. With peak brightness up to 810 nits, the screen remains visible even under direct sunlight. Xiaomi has equipped the display with TUV Rheinland certifications—Low Blue Light, Flicker-Free, and Circadian Friendly—for eye comfort.
Performance
The Redmi 15C is powered by the 5G MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, capable of handling daily tasks and light gaming. It features LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage, with virtual RAM expansion up to 16GB. This makes it suitable for multitasking without performance drops.
Software
The device runs HyperOS 2, based on Android 15, and Xiaomi promises two major OS updates and four years of security updates, which is notable for the budget segment.
Camera
The smartphone has a dual rear camera setup:
-
50MP main camera (f/1.8) for sharp daylight photos
-
Depth sensor for enhanced portrait mode
For selfies and video calls, the 8MP front camera provides adequate performance for social media.
Battery & Charging
A 6000mAh battery powers the Redmi 15C, offering 1–1.5 days of backup under heavy usage. It supports 33W fast charging and 10W reverse wired charging, enabling the phone to act as a power bank. The charger is included in the box.
Price & Availability
The Redmi 15C is available in Moonlight Blue, Dusk Purple, and Midnight Black. Pricing for the variants:
-
