Postpaid bills set to rise! Airtel hikes plan prices by up to ₹50, offers free international roaming..
Airtel has revised the prices of its postpaid plans. Along with a tariff hike of up to ₹50, the company has introduced a new benefit for customers: Airtel postpaid users will now receive a free international roaming pack for one trip annually. The new plans will come into effect on October 8, 2026.
According to company information, existing postpaid customers will be migrated to the next higher plan tier within approximately one month. An Airtel official stated that the free international roaming benefit is valued at around ₹2,000.
**Free 5-Day Roaming Pack**
This free roaming pack will have a validity of 5 days. It includes 5GB of data, 60 minutes of calling, and 25 outgoing SMS messages. There will be no charges for incoming SMS. Customers can activate this pack at any time during the year based on their requirements.
This benefit also extends to users of family postpaid plans; every member linked to the account will receive the free international roaming pack once a year.

Airtel’s ₹499 individual plan comes with a single SIM. In addition to unlimited data and calling, it includes spam and fraud protection, Xstream Play Premium, and Google One. The ₹749 family plan offers two SIMs and includes subscriptions to Amazon Prime, JioHotstar, Xstream Play Premium, and Google One.
The ₹1,049 plan includes three SIMs and offers benefits such as Apple iCloud+, Apple Music, Amazon Prime, JioHotstar, Xstream Play Premium, and Google One. The ₹1,249 plan provides four SIMs, with the other subscription benefits remaining largely the same.

All these plans include one free international roaming trip per year for each SIM.
**Benefits of 5G and Entertainment**
The new postpaid plans offer more than just roaming; they include 'Fast Lane' technology on 5G networks as well as spam and fraud protection. Subscribers also gain access to various entertainment subscriptions and the 'Airtel Postpaid Advantage Club.' Through the Advantage Club, users can enjoy benefits linked to experiences such as comedy shows, movie premieres, and concerts.
Airtel’s move comes at a time when Vodafone Idea is also offering free international roaming across select postpaid, prepaid, and enterprise plans. The company is aiming to attract customers by bundling roaming, data, entertainment, and security benefits into its premium plans.
**How to get the new Airtel Postpaid Plan?**
Existing Airtel Postpaid and Prepaid customers can upgrade their plans via the Airtel app. Alternatively, the new plan can be purchased by visiting a nearby Airtel store.
If you are using a SIM from another telecom operator, you can request to switch to an Airtel Postpaid connection through the Airtel app or an Airtel store.
