Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp Subscription Plans: Meta has begun rolling out paid subscriptions for Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp. According to reports, the company is launching "Plus" versions of its apps for the global market. Through these plans, users can pay to access exclusive tools and customization options that will not be available to regular users. This indicates that Meta no longer wishes to rely solely on advertisements for revenue; the company now wants users to pay for access to its premium features as well. Let's explore this in greater detail.
How much will the subscription plans cost?
According to reports, the price for Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus in the global market is set at approximately ₹390 per month, while WhatsApp Plus is priced at around ₹290 per month. As of now, information regarding the pricing of these plans in India has not yet been released.
Which features are included in each app's subscription plan?
Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus subscribers will be able to see exactly how many people have re-watched their Stories. Additionally, they will have the option to create unlimited Story audience lists and to secretly view others' Stories without appearing in the viewer list. This plan also includes options to extend the Story time limit beyond the standard 24 hours, spotlight one Story per week for increased visibility, search for specific users within the Story viewer list, and post content directly to one's profile without it appearing in followers' feeds.
These features come with WhatsApp Plus
As for WhatsApp Plus, the focus is heavily placed on messaging personalization. With WhatsApp's paid plan, subscribers will gain access to custom themes, unique ringtones, premium stickers, the ability to pin up to 20 chats simultaneously, and various list customization tools. The company has stated that additional new features will be added to these plans in the future. It is worth noting that these new subscription plans are distinct from Meta Verified, which offers features such as identity verification, impersonation protection, and customer support.
Meta One Plan Also Launched
In addition to the paid versions of its social media apps, the company has also announced Meta One. This offering includes plans tailored to the specific needs of AI users, creators, and businesses. It comprises two distinct plans. The first plan is named Meta One Plus, priced at $7.99 (approximately ₹775). This plan is designed for users who utilize Meta AI for image and video generation, as well as for executing complex reasoning tasks. The second plan is Meta One Premium, priced at approximately ₹2,000 per month; it offers the same set of features but comes with higher usage limits.
