Now you can chat even without a WhatsApp account, no need to download the app; a new feature has been unveiled.
The messaging app WhatsApp is rolling out a new and interesting feature called "Guest Chats." With the help of this feature, users will now be able to send messages even to people who do not have a WhatsApp account. In other words, the recipient will not need to download the app or create an account.
According to a report by WABetaInfo, this feature is currently available to a select group of Android and iOS beta users. Through Guest Chats, users can generate a unique link that can be shared with anyone. As soon as that person clicks on the link, they are directly joined to the chat and can send and receive messages.
A key highlight of this feature is that it, too, offers end-to-end encryption, ensuring the security of the chat. A unique ID is generated for every guest user, which facilitates the encryption process. This helps maintain the user's privacy.
However, Guest Chats do come with certain limitations. Features such as group chats, photo and video sharing, documents, GIFs, stickers, and voice messages will not be available. Additionally, options for voice and video calling will also not be provided. Essentially, this feature is designed exclusively for basic text messaging.
Users can share this link via SMS, email, or through other applications. Furthermore, if necessary, a guest user can also be blocked.
Another notable aspect is that these chats are not permanent. If there is no activity for 10 days, the chat automatically expires, and a new link must be generated to resume communication.
It would not be an exaggeration to say that this new WhatsApp feature could prove to be highly useful for those who wish to quickly communicate with someone without having to install the app.
