WhatsApp New Feature: WhatsApp may soon bring a major change for its Android users. According to reports, the company is working on new personalization tools that will allow users to change the app's colors, icons, and overall interface to their liking. These features have been spotted in beta versions and are expected to be released to general users in upcoming updates. This information was first noticed by feature tracker WABetaInfo, where these changes were visible in a new Android beta update.

New customization features seen in beta versions

According to reports, these new options have been included in WhatsApp's Android beta version 2.26.6.1. Currently, these features are limited to developers and select testers, but work is progressing rapidly. If all goes well, future updates could offer users a completely new and distinct experience, ditching WhatsApp's traditional green look.

14 New App Icon Options

The biggest change could be seen in app icons. Reports suggest that WhatsApp may introduce 14 new icon styles. Some of these will be simple single-color designs, such as blue, brown, green, monochrome, orange, pink, and purple. Other icons will feature more stylish looks, including Aurora, Fluffy, Galaxy, Clay, Sparkle, and Neon.

These options will allow users to change the look of WhatsApp on their home screen and app drawer, without the need for a third-party launcher.

App Colors Will Also Be Available

Not just the icon, WhatsApp may also offer the ability to change the app's primary color. According to the report, approximately 19 different color options could be available. These could include colors like royal blue, violet, coral, teal, brown, beige, yellow, pink, red, orange, and dark olive green. In addition to the default green, a classic design could return, giving a feel reminiscent of the old WhatsApp. These colors will appear across various parts of the app, such as tabs, filters, and floating buttons, giving the entire interface a consistent theme.

When will this update be available?

There hasn't been an official announcement from the company yet. Since the features are still in testing, they may take some time to arrive. However, if these changes are rolled out, the WhatsApp experience will become more personal and engaging than ever before.
