Rajmargyatra App Local Pass: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has taken a highly convenient step for residents who commute daily on national highways. With this new facility, people living within a 20-kilometer radius of a toll plaza can now obtain a 'Digital Local Pass' from the comfort of their homes.

Previously, locals had to visit the toll plaza in person and submit physical documents to get their concessional passes made or renewed. Now, however, the entire process can be completed digitally in just a few minutes via NHAI's official 'Rajmargyatra' mobile app. Users simply need to follow the steps outlined below.

Download the Rajmargyatra App
According to NHAI, the new local pass feature allows eligible motorists to purchase a monthly pass and enjoy unlimited travel for the month without visiting the toll plaza. Launch at Mundka-Bakkarwala Toll: This digital local pass facility has been launched first at the Mundka-Bakkarwala toll plaza on Delhi's Urban Extension Road-II. In the coming months, it will be implemented at all other NHAI toll plazas across the country.

App Directly Linked to DigiLocker and VAHAN Portals
This new system is integrated with DigiLocker and the VAHAN portal. Once you apply for the pass, the app—with your consent—automatically verifies your address, vehicle number, and linked FASTag details. Subsequently, GIS-based technology is used to confirm that your residence falls within the 20-kilometer radius of the toll plaza. This eliminates paperwork hassles and ensures transparency in the process.

'MargMitra' Help Center Added to the App
To make journeys smoother for national highway users, NHAI has also launched an intelligent digital assistance platform named 'MargMitra' within the Rajmargyatra app. 'Margmitra' is a single-window interface where travelers can report issues by either speaking or typing in any of 22 Indian languages. The platform provides instant information regarding FASTag recharges, KYC, refund status, and blacklisting status. If you encounter a problem, you can lodge a complaint directly through the app, which is immediately forwarded to the relevant department. Travelers can also track the status of their complaints in real-time. Additionally, the app allows users to report road safety concerns, such as broken-down vehicles or encroachments.

The NHAI has urged users on both Android and iOS platforms to download the 'Rajmargyatra' app so they can enjoy a safe and smart highway travel experience without any hassle.
