TRAI New System: If your mobile network or internet is unreliable at your home, office, or apartment, the situation may soon change.

TRAI New System: If your mobile network or internet is unreliable at your home, office, or apartment, the situation may soon change. The telecom regulator TRAI has launched a new system for testing and rating digital connectivity within buildings. Under this system, RANext Technologies has been authorized as a digital connectivity rating agency.

It has been given a crucial responsibility

According to information released by TRAI, RANext Technologies will now evaluate the digital infrastructure in various properties across the country. This evaluation will be entirely based on user experience, meaning the rating will be based on how strong and reliable the network is in actual use. It will assess the quality of the fiber network, mobile connectivity within the building, broadband and Wi-Fi performance, as well as readiness for future smart technologies.

Why connectivity has become essential in the digital age

India is rapidly moving towards a digital-first economy, where work, education, banking, healthcare, and entertainment are almost entirely dependent on the internet. Nearly a billion people use the internet daily, and the trend of smart homes and smart offices is also growing rapidly. In this context, the digital performance of any building has become a crucial part of its value and user experience.

A major shortcoming of modern buildings

Surprisingly, most new buildings are still not designed or tested from a digital performance perspective. As a result, network and internet-related problems arise during occupancy, which later prove difficult and expensive to resolve.

What is the DCRA Star Rating Framework?

TRAI's Digital Connectivity Rating Framework is an attempt to address this shortcoming. Under this framework, the digital connectivity and communication systems within a building will be evaluated based on defined standards. A star rating will then be assigned accordingly, providing an unbiased and clear assessment of a property's digital readiness. Both Buyers and Developers Will Benefit

This initiative will encourage builders to incorporate robust digital infrastructure from the early stages of project design. Meanwhile, those buying or renting homes or offices will find it easier to understand the quality of the network and internet connectivity in a building.

A Major Step for Digital Infrastructure

According to Ankit Goel, Chairman and Founder of Space World Group, RANext's parent company, this initiative positions the company not only as a provider of connectivity solutions but also as a trusted evaluator of digital infrastructure. This move by TRAI could prove to be a game-changer in shaping the digital experience in buildings in the future.
