WhatsApp Update: WhatsApp is introducing a new feature to enhance the iPhone experience. The goal of this update is to keep chats organized and reduce clutter within the app. With this new feature, users will be able to decide which filters appear at the top of the chat tab and which ones are placed in a separate section.

Chat List to Get a New Management System

According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is testing a new chat list management system on iOS. While this feature was previously spotted for some Android users, it is now being tested for iPhone users as well.

This new system will allow users to organize chat filters according to their preferences. This will make it easier to access important chats and reduce screen clutter caused by unnecessary options.

Filters Can Be Set According to Needs

Currently, WhatsApp offers several filters such as Favorites, Unread, Groups, and Communities. Additionally, users can create their own custom chat lists. Issues arise when the number of filters increases, requiring users to scroll through a long list to find the right option. The new update aims to resolve this problem.

Less Frequently Used Filters to Move to a Separate Section

Following the update, frequently used filters will appear on the main chat screen, while less frequently used ones can be moved to a separate menu. This section will be accessible via a new 'Filter' button. This will make the chat tab look cleaner and reduce the time needed to find important conversations.

Default Filters Like 'Favorites' Can Also Be Hidden

WhatsApp is also giving users greater control over default filters. For instance, if a user does not utilize the 'Favorites' filter, they can remove it from the main screen and move it to the secondary menu. This feature ensures that the chat tab displays only those options the user actually utilizes.

Special Filter for Draft Messages

A dedicated filter for draft messages has been added in the new update. A 'draft' refers to a message that a user has typed but not yet sent. WhatsApp marks such chats with a green 'Draft' label. The new filter will consolidate all conversations containing unfinished messages into one place.

Easier to Find Unfinished Conversations

With the help of the Draft filter, users will be able to quickly locate chats where messages were left incomplete. This reduces the likelihood of forgetting important conversations and makes it easier to complete pending messages.

When Will This Feature Be Available?

Currently, this new chat management system is being rolled out to select WhatsApp users on the App Store and to TestFlight beta testers. While the company has not yet announced a specific date for a wider rollout, more iPhone users are expected to gain access to this feature in the coming weeks. This WhatsApp update could prove particularly useful for those who manage a large volume of chats daily and wish to keep their messaging experience more organized.
