New Feature Arrives in Google Chrome! Desktop-Style Bookmark Bar Now Visible on Mobile as Well..
Have you, too, been frustrated until now by the inability to view bookmarks saved on your desktop directly on your mobile device—forcing you to open your desktop again just to access them? Well, Google has finally heard your feedback and has put an end to this very inconvenience. How, you ask? Let us explain.
Google has introduced a new feature to its most popular browser: Google Chrome. This feature has been designed specifically for users of Android devices. With this new update, the bookmarks bar will now appear within Chrome on Android devices, allowing users to quickly and easily access their saved websites. Previously, this feature was available exclusively on the desktop version of the browser.
A particularly useful aspect of this update is that if the bookmarks saved to the bar exceed the available space, a right-pointing arrow icon will appear at the end of the bar. Tapping this icon reveals a list of your remaining saved bookmarks. This ensures that, regardless of how many bookmarks you have saved, you can access them all with ease.
Chrome has also included another option in this update called "All bookmarks." Tapping this option opens the full bookmarks interface, where you can view a comprehensive list of all your saved websites. From this interface, you can manage your existing bookmarks—editing them or adding new ones—all in one place.
How to Enable This Feature?
This new feature is being rolled out to Android devices as part of Chrome version 146. Users who wish to utilize this feature can enable it by navigating to their browser's settings. To do so, simply go to Chrome's Settings > Appearance > Show bookmarks bar. If this option does not appear immediately even after the update, users can go to their phone's app settings, force stop the Chrome app, and then reopen it. This increases the likelihood of the new option appearing.
