A useful feature has been released for Instagram users. It is the comment editing feature. With its help, comments made on posts on the platform can be edited within 15 minutes.

Last month—specifically in March—AI voice effects were added, allowing users to send voice messages in the voices of various characters. Now, the app has introduced the ability to edit comments. Instagram’s comment editing feature has officially launched. With the help of this feature, users can now edit comments they have made on any post. Users will have a window of 15 minutes to do so. Once this time limit expires, the comment can no longer be modified.

Meta spokesperson Nicole Rechtszaid states that a 15-minute window is ample time to correct a comment. An ‘Edited’ label will appear next to any modified comment. This ensures that other users are aware that the comment has been revised.

She further explained that if a user wishes to edit a comment on Instagram, they must first navigate to the specific comment they wish to correct. An ‘Edit’ button will be located near the comment; simply tap on it. Then, make the necessary changes and save. The edited comment will subsequently appear on the screen.

Experts believe that while this Instagram feature may seem minor, it is highly practical. It allows users to rectify any comment, which is expected to significantly reduce the number of erroneous comments on the platform.
