Netflix Playground is available as a standalone app that can be accessed by signing in with an existing Netflix account. It features a curated collection of games starring characters from popular shows such as *Peppa Pig* and *Sesame Street*. According to the company, all games are instantly playable and are also available for offline play.

The app includes a variety of interactive activities, such as puzzles, memory games, coloring, and simple creative tasks. Players can access experiences such as *Playtime With Peppa Pig*, *Sesame Street* mini-games featuring characters like Elmo and Cookie Monster, and *Dr. Seuss*-themed adventures.

Netflix states that this platform is designed to bring together entertainment, learning, and creativity for young audiences.

John Derderian, Netflix's Vice President of Animation Series and Kids & Family TV, stated that the company aims to create a space where children can actively engage with content rather than merely watch it. He further added that the goal is to create "a great place for discovery, learning, and play."

According to the streaming platform, the app has been built in conjunction with its existing parental control tools. These tools include separate profiles for children, maturity filters, title-level blocking, and viewing history features. These tools allow parents to determine what their children can view or play on this specific gaming app.

Notably, while Netflix first introduced mobile games in 2021, with 'Playground,' it has created a dedicated gaming app specifically for children for the very first time. This app is currently available in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, the Philippines, and New Zealand, and is set to launch globally on April 28.
