MyCall App: Poor Call Quality? Provide Feedback via TRAI's New App
TRAI has relaunched the MyCall app with new features. Users can now directly convey issues related to call drops, audio quality, and network connectivity to telecom companies through ratings and feedback.
Many users still face issues such as frequent call drops, unclear voice transmission, or audio delays during conversations. To address these complaints and ensure they reach the respective telecom companies directly, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has relaunched the MyCall mobile app in a revamped version. Through this app, consumers can rate their calling experience and share details regarding call quality issues. The initiative aims to improve the quality of mobile network services and expedite the transmission of user complaints to the relevant service providers.
What is the MyCall app, and how does it work?
TRAI's MyCall app serves as a platform where mobile users can provide feedback on their experience after any voice call. The app offers an option to rate the call on a scale of 1 to 5 stars. Users can also log any technical issues encountered during the call. This data will help telecom companies identify the specific areas or conditions where network-related problems are most prevalent.
What issues can be reported?
Users can report various common problems through the app, such as call drops, echoes during conversations, audio delays, cross-connections, and voice breaking or cutting out. In essence, if a call experience is unsatisfactory, the details can now be logged directly into the system. This is expected to make the network improvement process more effective.
User feedback will reach telecom companies directly
According to TRAI Chairman Anil Kumar Lahoti, the MyCall app will provide consumers with a vital medium to share their actual calling experiences. Feedback received through the app will be shared with the respective telecom service providers so that they can make necessary improvements to network and call quality.
How will ordinary customers benefit?
If a large number of users regularly utilize this app, telecom companies will gain better data regarding the actual state of the network. This will make it easier to identify areas where calling-related issues persist. In the long run, the benefits could manifest as improved call quality, fewer dropped calls, and a more reliable mobile network.
