Mobile Recharge Gets Costlier! Will Your Expenses Rise Again?
Mobile users may soon have to spend more on their monthly recharge plans. Except for Reliance Jio, all major telecom operators have already begun increasing the prices of select prepaid plans from November. Industry experts believe this is just the beginning, as a broader tariff hike is expected across the sector in the coming weeks.
According to recent industry data, the aggregate revenue growth of telecom companies dropped from 14–16% in the September quarter to nearly 10%, signaling rising financial pressure. Analysts warn that this slowdown could intensify further in the December quarter.
To manage their financial load and boost Average Revenue Per User (ARPU), telecom operators are likely to implement another round of price hikes. Estimates suggest that prepaid tariffs may go up by around 15%, directly impacting the monthly spending of millions of customers.
If these predictions hold true, mobile users should be prepared for higher recharge bills before the end of the year.
