Telecom companies offer missed call alerts to users, but while some offer this feature for free, some companies charge users for it. Mukesh Ambani's telecom companies, Reliance Jio and Airtel, offer this service free of charge, while Vodafone Idea (Vi) charges users for this service.

Vi Missed Call Alert Charge
According to a Telecom Talk report, users are charged ₹45 for the Vi MCA Pack. ₹45 provides 6 months of validity. This translates to a monthly cost of ₹7.50 per month.

Jio and Airtel offer MCA benefits to both prepaid and postpaid customers free of charge. Vi offers this service as a paid add-on. This difference has once again drawn attention to the tariff gap, especially as users increasingly compare essential services across networks.

What is the benefit of Missed Call Alerts?
Missed call alerts are a basic telecom feature that notifies subscribers of calls they may have missed when their phone was switched off, out of coverage, or unreachable. For most users, these alerts serve as a safety net in situations where network access is weak or intermittent.

For many users, MCA is considered a basic necessity rather than an optional feature, especially in areas where network coverage is variable. As such, alerts become the only way to know who attempted to call.
