According to media reports, WhatsApp is testing redesigned message bubbles for its iOS app. These chat bubbles will look rounder and smoother compared to the current ones. Furthermore, media content such as photos, videos, and GIFs may no longer be enclosed within the traditional bordered bubbles.

A report by WABetaInfo indicates that this new interface is currently available to select iPhone beta testers using the latest TestFlight build. The report also suggests that users on the stable App Store version might eventually see this new design as well.

Notably, the updated chat bubbles will feature a more rounded design, offering a smoother and softer aesthetic. Visually, the design bears a strong resemblance to Apple's iMessage and aligns well with Apple's new "Liquid Glass" design language.

Additionally, reports state that WhatsApp will no longer display photos, videos, and GIFs sent in chats inside the old bordered bubbles; instead, these files will appear in a borderless format, giving them a unique look.

While the company has not yet announced an official launch date for this new design, the commencement of beta testing suggests that the update could be rolled out to all iPhone users in the coming days.
