What will the new animation look like?
Currently, when a new message arrives on WhatsApp, it appears instantly on the screen. However, with the new feature, this will change. The message bubble will first appear with a subtle fade-in effect, then expand slightly before settling into place. This will make the overall chat experience feel smoother and more refined.

While this change may seem minor, it could significantly improve the chatting experience for daily WhatsApp users.

Option to disable the animation
WhatsApp is not just adding a new animation; it is also giving users control over it.
On the iPhone, this new option will be available under Settings > Chats > Animations. From there, users can toggle the message animation on or off according to their preference.

This setting will appear alongside existing controls for animated emojis, stickers, and GIFs, making it easier to customize the app to one's liking.

Testing is underway on Android as well
