To prevent this, first long-press the app icon. Then go to App info > Permissions. Check which permissions are active and which are not needed. Set them to Deny or Ask Every Time.
If you want to see the permissions of all apps at once, go to Settings > Security & Privacy > Permission Manager. From there, you can revoke any app's permission. Caution is also necessary when it comes to location. Go to Settings > Location > App permissions and turn off the Use Precise Location toggle. Many apps continue running on your phone even when you're not using them, draining battery or data. To prevent this, go to Settings > Apps > Battery Usage and turn off Allow background activity. This will only allow the app to run when you open it yourself. Keep in mind that turning this off in messaging or email apps may delay notifications.
Similarly, go to Settings > Location > Location Services and turn off both Bluetooth scanning and Wi-Fi scanning. This will prevent your device from repeatedly scanning nearby networks and reduce the risk of tracking.
