iPhone Tips: The way iPhone users use WhatsApp is about to change, a new feature is on the way...
WhatsApp New Attachment Sheet: WhatsApp is gearing up to introduce a new and smarter media-sharing experience for its iPhone users. Currently, the company is testing a redesigned attachment sheet within its iOS app, which will allow users to instantly share photos and videos received from other contacts without ever having to leave the chat screen. In this update, media files will be displayed in a 4x4 grid layout, making the sharing process faster and easier than ever before.
What makes the redesigned media attachment sheet special?
According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is rolling out a new media attachment sheet for its iOS users. Here are some of its key highlights:
4x4 Grid Layout: Following the new update, whenever you open the attachment menu within a chat, a compact preview area will appear directly beneath the standard sharing icons (such as Document, Location, etc.). Here, your most recent files—including photos and videos—will be neatly arranged in a 4x4 grid layout.
Chat Remains Active: Previously, attaching media would open the full photo gallery, thereby obscuring the chat conversation in the background. However, thanks to this new "Recent" section, the chat remains clearly visible in the background, allowing you to share media without losing focus on your conversation. This means users will no longer have to waste time navigating to the full Gallery or a separate screen; instead, the entire process becomes significantly faster and smoother.
Where can users find this new "Recent" section?
This impressive feature is expected to become available to users in WhatsApp for iOS version 26.19.75. According to screenshots and reports, the upper section of the sheet will—as always—feature standard sharing options such as Document, Camera, Gallery, Location, and Audio; however, situated directly beneath these options will be a shortcut grid displaying your recent media files. This will save users valuable time and eliminate the hassle of having to repeatedly dive into the full Gallery just to locate and share photos.
How will users utilize this feature?
If you are an iPhone user, accessing this new interface is extremely easy for you:
First, open any of your WhatsApp chats.
Then, tap on the plus (+) button located next to the chat box.
Now, the new attachment sheet section will open up before you, where your recent files will be displayed at the bottom.
Please note that the company is not currently releasing this feature to all users simultaneously. At present, it is available only to select iOS beta testers. It is believed that WhatsApp is testing its performance and stability before initiating a global rollout for iPhone users worldwide.
