iPhone: Good news for iPhone users! The new update brings many powerful features, here's how to download it..
Apple Releases iOS 26.1 Update: Tech giant Apple has rolled out the new iOS 26.1 update for iPhone users. This update includes new display features like Liquid Glass, website controls for children, and major upgrades to Apple Music and Live Translation. It also includes several security and bug fixes that improve user privacy and device performance. Apple has also fixed several bugs found in iOS 26.0.1.
Major Changes in Visibility and UI
Addressing user complaints about legibility and visibility, Apple has added a feature called Liquid Glass to iOS 26.1. Users can now choose between clear and tinted look modes. This increases the opacity of UI elements in apps and notifications, making content easier to read. Additionally, users can now choose to disable the Camera app from the lock screen.
iOS 26.1 adds support for four new languages to the Live Translation feature for AirPods: Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Japanese, Korean, and Italian. This brings real-time translation to a total of nine languages. Apple Music also features a new Mini Player swipe gesture, which allows swiping left to play the next song and swiping right to play the previous song. Apple Music AutoMix is now also supported on AirPlay, allowing users to easily blend music on any compatible device.
Web Content Filters and Safety Controls for Child Accounts
Apple has activated web content filtering by default for younger users (13-17 years old) in iOS 26.1. This will prevent children from visiting adult websites. New Communication Safety features are also part of this update, strengthening the digital safety of users, especially children. Parental controls will now be more stringent and precise than before.
Security Patches, Camera, FaceTime, and Bug Fixes
Apple has fixed security vulnerabilities in the Kernel, Safari, WebKit, Camera, and several iOS system modules in iOS 26.1. Some of the major bug fixes include a visual error with the AirDrop icon, duplicate blood pressure entries in HealthKit, and a failure in the Processor Trace instrument. FaceTime audio quality has also been improved on low-bandwidth networks. Gain control now supports external USB microphones, and manual workout logging is now available in Apple Fitness.
