Instagram Update: Did you get this new Instagram feature? Reels, Stories, and Posts will appear on the Map...

Instagram has started rolling out its new Map feature in India. Using this feature, users can now share their last active location with selected friends or groups. You'll also see Reels, Stories, Notes, and Posts associated with that location. This means that Reels, Stories, and Posts will also be visible in this new map. Let's explore this in detail...
Location Sharing and Discovery
With this special map, users can customize their location sharing preferences, such as choosing which friends they want to show their location to, which locations they want to disable sharing, or even turn it off completely. Furthermore, parents will receive a notification whenever location sharing is turned on for supervised accounts of teen users. Content displayed on the map will remain visible for 24 hours. You can access the Map feature from the DM inbox icon.
Changes Made After Launch
It's worth noting that this feature was initially launched in a limited number of countries, but with the launch in India, Instagram has made several changes to this feature to provide users with greater clarity regarding location sharing and privacy. An indicator will now appear above the map to indicate whether location sharing is on or off.
A prompt will also appear below the profile photo in the Notes tray to indicate that the user is not sharing their location. The profile photo will no longer appear above location-tagged content to prevent anyone from assuming it's a live location.
A reminder message will also appear, informing them that if you tag a location in a post, reel, or story, it will appear on the map. A preview option has also been added, allowing users to see how their tagged content will appear on the map before posting.
