Instagram TV App Now Available on Google TV, Learn How to Install
Instagram has launched its TV app on Google TV. Users can view Reels, photos, and posts on the big screen. The app is easy to download from the Google Play Store and log in. It also offers multi-account support and interactive features. Currently available in the US, it will soon be available in other countries.
Social media platform Instagram has expanded its experience beyond mobile and launched on Google TV. After launching on Amazon Fire TV in late 2025, the company has expanded it to Google TV devices. This means users will now be able to view Reels, photos, and posts on the big screen directly in their living rooms. This move is part of Instagram's strategy to compete with video-friendly platforms like YouTube.
What's New for Users?
The Instagram app on Google TV can be easily operated using the TV remote. Content is organized into categories like comedy, music, sports, and lifestyle. Clicking on a Reel instantly starts the video, and when it ends, the next video automatically plays. This experience is more like watching a TV channel than scrolling on a mobile.
Special Features for Large Screens
- Photos and carousel posts can also be viewed.
- Vertical videos have been optimized for TV screens.
- Captions and text have been made large and clear.
- Interactive features like likes, comments, and reshares are also available.
Easy Setup and Multi-Account Support
The Instagram TV app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. Users can scan a QR code to log in or enter details manually. Up to five accounts can be added to a single TV, allowing different family members to use the app from their own accounts.
Currently only in the US, coming to other countries soon
Currently, this feature is available in the US, but the company plans to roll it out to other countries soon. This move clearly shows that Instagram no longer wants to be limited to just the mobile app, but also wants to make its place on the TV screens in homes.
