Instagram to Reward 25 Creators with Exclusive Gold Rings, Custom Like Button, and Special Profile Design

Instagram has announced a brand-new Creator Award Program aimed at celebrating innovation, creativity, and social impact. As part of this initiative, the platform will honor 25 exceptional creators with exclusive perks — including a custom-designed gold ring, a special digital ring around their Instagram profile, and even the ability to design their own “Like” button.
This unique recognition is not about monetary rewards but about celebrating originality and the cultural influence of creators who redefine trends across the platform.
Instagram Launches New Creator Award Program
The announcement was made on Monday, as Instagram introduced this one-of-a-kind award program to acknowledge creators who “push boundaries and create change in society.” According to the company, 25 selected creators will receive a limited-edition gold ring designed by renowned British fashion designer Grace Wales Bonner.
In addition to the physical ring, these winners will also see a digital golden ring displayed around their Instagram profiles, symbolizing prestige and creativity. Moreover, they will be given the opportunity to customize the “Like” button for their posts — a feature that has never been available to any other user on the platform.
Interestingly, the award does not include any cash prize. Instead, it focuses purely on recognition, creative freedom, and brand distinction.
Who Will Choose the Winners?
The selection panel for this award includes some of the biggest names in the entertainment and creative industries. The judges’ list features Adam Mosseri, Head of Instagram; Oscar-winning director Spike Lee; fashion designer Marc Jacobs; YouTuber Marques Brownlee (MKBHD); actress Yara Shahidi; and makeup artist Pat McGrath, among others.
Their combined expertise ensures that the awards go to creators who are not just popular, but also impactful and authentic in their approach. The official announcement of the 25 winners is scheduled for October 16, 2025.
A Shift in Meta’s Creator Strategy
This launch comes at a time when Meta, Instagram’s parent company, has scaled back several of its creator payment programs over the past few years.
In 2023, Meta discontinued the Reels Bonus Program that rewarded creators for generating high engagement on Instagram and Facebook. Similarly, the company ended its Affiliate Marketing Bonus Program in 2022 and later shut down its in-profile ad monetization initiative, which allowed creators to earn through sponsored content.
This year, Meta’s focus has seemingly shifted from direct payments to recognition-based initiatives, encouraging creators to express themselves through meaningful projects rather than relying solely on financial rewards.
Drop in Brand Deals and Sponsorships
According to a survey by Kajabi, brand collaborations for creators dropped by nearly 52% in 2024. Data from Bank of America also revealed a decline in sponsored partnerships, with most deals now going primarily to top-tier influencers rather than emerging creators.
This shift has led many independent creators to seek alternative ways to stand out. Instagram’s new award program, therefore, offers a unique opportunity — not in the form of cash, but through symbolic recognition and creative visibility that could enhance personal branding and credibility.
Celebrating Bold and Fearless Creators
By introducing this award, Instagram aims to honor creators who are unafraid to experiment and express their individuality. The initiative sends a clear message that creativity, authenticity, and innovation are still the core values driving the platform.
The Gold Ring Award Program represents a fusion of art, technology, and recognition — a modern way of celebrating digital excellence. Whether it’s through fashion, music, content creation, or social activism, Instagram wants to spotlight those who are reshaping the platform’s culture.
With winners to be revealed on October 16, the anticipation is already building among the global creator community. This award might not come with a cash prize, but the prestige, visibility, and creative freedom it offers could make it one of the most coveted honors in the digital creator space.
