Instagram Tips: Whether you want to take a break from Instagram or delete your account, learn how...
Instagram is one of the most widely used social media platforms. This app, from Meta, offers people a break from reality through entertaining content, but the constant scrolling makes many people addicted. If you want to take a break from Instagram and focus on real life, you can deactivate your account.
But if you've decided to leave Instagram and delete all your data, you can permanently delete your account. Let's explore the steps for both.
How to delete an account from the Account Center on Android?
Open the Instagram app on your Android or iOS device.
Click the profile photo in the bottom right and open your profile.
Tap the top right menu (three lines).
Go to Accounts Center and then select Personal details.
Tap Account ownership and control, then select Deactivation or deletion.
Select the account you want to permanently delete.
Tap Delete account, then click Continue.
To deactivate only, select the Deactivation option instead of Deletion.
How to delete an account from the Account Center on a computer?
Open the Instagram website on your computer.
Login to your Instagram account.
Click the three horizontal lines in the bottom left and then go to Settings.
Open the Accounts Center and go to Personal Details.
Under Account ownership and control, select Deactivation or deletion.
Select the account you want to permanently delete.
Click Delete account, then tap Continue.
How long does it take for an Instagram account to be deleted?
It can take up to 90 days for an Instagram account to be completely deleted. If your account is deleted, you can sign up again with the same username, provided no one else has used it. Keep in mind that 30 days after the account deletion request, your account and all information associated with it are permanently deleted.
