Instagram Adds New AI Feature: Reels Translation Now Available in 5 More Indian Languages, Here's How It Works
Instagram is bringing its AI voice translation feature to five more Indian languages: Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Marathi. Soon, users will be able to dub Reels into other languages while maintaining the creator's voice and lip movements.
Instagram has announced that it will be bringing its AI voice translation feature to 5 new Indian languages. This feature was previously available for dubbing and lip-syncing Reels in languages like English, Hindi, Spanish, and Portuguese. Now, the company is preparing to launch it in Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Marathi as well. However, Meta says that this feature will start rolling out to users in these languages in the coming months.
How will the Reels Translate feature work on Instagram?
When uploading a Reel, you will see a new option called ‘Translate your voice with Meta AI.’ Instagram currently offers the option to translate Reels into English, Hindi, Spanish, and Portuguese. But in the upcoming update, several more Indian languages will be added. This will allow users to easily choose their preferred language.
Instagram Adds Indian Fonts to Edits
Instagram has added Indian fonts to its Edits app. Now, creators can use fonts in Devanagari and Bengali-Assamese scripts. These fonts will allow users to style their text and captions. This will make creating content in languages like Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, and Assamese even easier. The company says that this new update will reach Android users in the coming days.
How to use the new Indian fonts in the Edits app?
- First, open the Edits app on your Android phone after the new update.
- Now, upload the video you want to edit and go to the editing timeline.
- Tap on Text from the tools provided below.
Then click on the ‘Aa’ icon, where you will see all the fonts. If your phone already has Devanagari or Bengali-Assamese language set as the default, the new Indian fonts will automatically appear in the font list. Other users will need to swipe down a little in the ‘All fonts’ section, where they can select the Indian language font of their choice.
