ICICI iMobile App Biometric Authentication: Are you also tired of the hassle of entering a 4 or 6-digit PIN every time you make a UPI payment? If so, this news is just for you. ICICI Bank has introduced a new and impressive feature in its iMobile Pay app, which now allows you to make UPI payments of up to ₹5,000 without having to enter a PIN. This will not only make payments easier but will also save time. Let's find out how to use this feature...

How to Make Payments Without a PIN?
Now, users of the ICICI Bank iMobile Pay app can perform UPI transactions—such as sending money to someone, scanning a QR code at a store to pay, or making online payments—using biometric authentication. This means that payments of up to ₹5,000 can now be easily processed using fingerprint sensors and Face ID security features. Please note that biometric verification can only be used for transactions up to ₹5,000. For amounts exceeding this limit, users will still need to use their UPI PIN. For your information, PhonePe had launched this very same feature for UPI payments in India earlier this year.

How to Enable Biometric Verification in the ICICI iMobile App
Enabling biometric verification on the ICICI iMobile app is extremely simple.

Step 1: Log in to the iMobile app.

Step 2: Tap on 'UPI Payments' and select 'UPI Settings'.

Step 3: Select the account number for which you wish to activate biometric authentication.

Step 4: Select 'Use biometric for payments' and tap on 'Proceed'.

Step 5: Enter your UPI PIN to complete the verification process.

You Will Need to Download This Version
This biometric feature is available in the latest versions of the app for both Android and iOS platforms. Android users can perform transactions using their fingerprint on version v30.0 of the iMobile app. Meanwhile, iOS users can make payments via face recognition in version 28.2 of the iMobile app.
