How to Unlock a Locked Phone: If you're one of those users who has forgotten your phone's password, PIN, or pattern and can't unlock it, there's no need to worry. You can unlock such a device yourself at home, without even needing to visit a service center. Let us tell you how.

How to Unlock a Locked Phone: Our smartphones contain a lot of personal details that are very important to us. We never want these details to fall into the hands of strangers. Therefore, to keep them safe, we first set a password on our smartphones so that no one can peek inside our phones. But sometimes, we forget the correct pattern or password, leaving us locked out of our phones.

If you've forgotten your phone's password, PIN, or pattern, or if you ever forget it in the future, there's no need to worry. You can unlock your phone yourself at home without going to a service center. Depending on the operating system, there are different methods for unlocking your phone. Let's explain each one.

For Android Users

Unlock Your Phone with a Google Account

When we set up a new Android phone, we always log in with our Google account. This account is used to unlock the phone if we forget our password or pattern.

If you enter the wrong password, PIN, or pattern multiple times, a message will appear on the screen asking us to try again, along with a 'Forgot Pattern/Password' option.

After tapping this option, you'll need to log in with the same Google account registered on your phone.
Once logged in, your phone will be unlocked, and you can then set a new password or pattern.

Keep in mind that this method requires an internet connection. This method is considered the best because it doesn't delete any data on your phone.

Factory Reset Your Phone

If the previous method didn't work, you can unlock your Android phone by performing a factory reset. Follow these steps:

First, turn off your phone.

Now, press and hold the Power button along with the Volume Up or Volume Down button (depending on the phone model) for a few seconds.

After this, your phone will enter recovery mode. Here, select the Factory Reset option and then click Clean/Erase Data and Wipe Cache to complete the process.

When you turn your phone back on after about a minute, it won't ask for a password or pattern. The phone will directly display the option to set it from scratch.

Before using this method, keep in mind that you won't recover any data (e.g., photos, videos, songs) stored on your phone. Unlocking your phone using this process will delete all data.

For iPhone users

If you've forgotten your iPhone's passcode, you can follow these steps to unlock it:

First, turn off your iPhone. Press and hold the power button.

Now, put the phone into recovery mode. Connect your iPhone to your PC or MacBook and press and hold the power button.

You must have iTunes installed on your PC or Mac. Once the recovery mode screen appears, you'll be able to control the phone using iTunes.

Click the Restore option in iTunes. This will delete all data on the iPhone and remove the passcode.

You can then restore your data, apps, and settings from a backup by setting a new passcode, or you can set up your phone as a new device.
