Spam calls are a daily nuisance. Marketing and promotional calls interrupt our work. Sometimes, these calls are fraudulent. Dealing with spam calls isn't difficult. You can do a simple trick to deal with them. Ignoring spam calls can be costly. You can't always keep DND (Do Not Disturb) mode on your phone to avoid unnecessary calls. However, you can block spam calls on your Android phone. Furthermore, let's learn how to get help from Jio, Airtel, and others.

Activate DND by sending a message to this number.
Users can activate the DND service on their number. To do this, open your phone's messaging app and type "START" and send it to 1909. You will then receive a list of call categories, such as banking, hospitality, etc. Each category has a unique code. You must reply with the code for the category of calls you wish to block.

These calls will be blocked.
Shortly after doing this, you will receive a confirmation message, and the DND service will be activated within 24 hours. This service blocks unwanted commercial calls from third parties, but it does not affect important alerts from banks or service providers.

Jio users should follow this method.
Also, you can activate the DND service directly through your telecom operator. Jio users can activate the DND service directly through the MyJio app. Then, under Service Settings, select Do Not Disturb, select the category, and then block.

This method is best for Airtel.
Airtel users should visit airtel.in/airtel-dnd. You'll then need to select the DND blocking option. After this, enter your mobile number. An OTP will be sent to your phone. Enter it and select a category.

Vi and BSNL users should follow these steps:
Vi (Vodafone Idea) users can visit discover.vodafone.in/dnd and fill in their details to select a category. BSNL users can send an SMS to 1909 with "start dnd" from their BSNL number and then select a category.

Special features of phones:

Newer Android devices have a unique feature that automatically filters unknown or suspected spam calls. To do this, open the Phone app.
Then tap the three dots (menu) at the top and go to Settings.
Select "Caller ID & Spam."
Then turn on "Filter spam calls" and "See caller & spam ID."
This feature silences calls from numbers not in your contact list.
