Grok: Those who steal others' content on X are in trouble; they will lose their earnings as the platform changes this rule..

Stealing content under the guise of "smart work" is about to prove costly on social media. Elon Musk's micro-blogging platform, X (formerly Twitter), has significantly tightened its creator monetization policies. The company aims to crack down on individuals who earn money by stealing others' content or using deceptive "engagement bait" tactics. To enforce this, X is leveraging its advanced "Grok AI" model.

**Grok AI: Three Times Smarter**
On July 16, the company announced that the new version of Grok AI is now three times faster at identifying duplicate and copied content than before. According to X's Head of Product, Nikita Bier, this new detection system goes beyond just stolen videos; it can also easily identify viral text posts that have been copied without proper credit.

Crucially, the tricks used by content thieves will no longer work. Even if someone adds their own watermark, inserts an intro, or performs minor edits on a stolen video, they will not reap any benefits—or earn any revenue—from the views it generates.

**Money Goes to Original Creators; ₹8 Crore Returned**
The most revolutionary aspect of this new policy is that impressions and revenue generated from stolen content will now be transferred directly to the original creator's account.

Nikita Bier revealed that X identified approximately 1.5 million stolen posts during a recent review cycle. While she did not specify the exact timeframe, she clarified that due to these stricter measures, the company has reclaimed over $1 million (approximately ₹8.3 crore) in payouts from content thieves and returned the funds to the original creators.

**Promoting Original Content and Video Creators**
X aims to encourage people to create their own original content. In line with this, the company has recently launched its advanced in-app video recorder and editor. The aim is to encourage users to create and edit videos directly within X, rather than importing video clips from other platforms.
