**Google Pixel Watch 5 Features**
The Pixel Watch 5 retains the round design of the previous generation but offers a significant display upgrade. It features a Domed Actua 360 AMOLED LTPO display with a peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits. The screen offers a pixel density of 320ppi and an adaptive refresh rate of up to 60Hz. It also supports an Always-On Display and is protected by scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass.
Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 Processor
The Google Pixel Watch 5 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 Accelerated platform, accompanied by a Cortex-M55 co-processor. According to the company, this dual-chip architecture delivers up to a 20% performance improvement over the Pixel Watch 4. It also offers 50% more RAM and a 12% CPU boost. The smartwatch comes with 64GB of eMMC internal storage.
Enhanced Gemini Integration
Gemini is more deeply integrated into the Pixel Watch 5. Users can simply raise their wrist to speak directly with Gemini. Gemini can also provide suggestions based on relevant information from Google services like Gmail and Calendar, making it easier to manage daily tasks and access information on the smartwatch.
New Health Tracking Features
Health tracking is a key aspect of the Pixel Watch 5. The smartwatch includes features such as ECG with AFib detection, high and low heart rate alerts, resting heart rate monitoring, SpO2, HRV, breathing rate, and skin temperature variation tracking. Real-time stress tracking is also included. For sleep tracking, it offers breathing regularity analysis and a personalized sleep score.
Health Trends via 'Health Guardian'
Google has introduced a new feature called 'Health Guardian' on the Pixel Watch 5. It provides a monthly summary of health-related trends, including data on blood pressure trends, breathing quality during sleep, and insulin resistance trends. However, these features are designed to help understand long-term changes rather than provide real-time clinical readings.
Breathing Emergency Detection
A new feature on the Pixel Watch 5 is 'Breathing Emergency Detection.' Google claims this is the first feature of its kind in the smartwatch industry.
It is designed to detect severe and sustained drops in the body's oxygen levels. For this, the AI present on the device is used in conjunction with PPG, accelerometer, and barometer sensors.
