Google Maps' new 'Live Lane Guidance' feature will make driving easier, and AI will also be used.
This new feature will provide drivers with customized real-time navigation assistance.
Google Maps Live Lane Guidance Feature: Google Maps is used by 2 billion people worldwide every month, and this large number of people find it extremely easy to navigate the roads. Google is constantly striving to improve its navigation service, Google Maps, and Google has shared information about this new feature on the social media platform Google Maps.
Google Maps is launching an AI-powered Live Lane Guidance feature, giving cars a built-in Google feature. For the first time, Google Maps can view the road and monitor lanes like a driver. This new feature will provide drivers with customized real-time navigation assistance. Here's how you can benefit from it...
What is Google's Live Lane Guidance feature?
Suppose you're in the last left lane on the road and need to exit from the right lane, Live Lane Guidance will automatically detect this. It will also use clear audio and video cues to alert drivers to merge into traffic in a timely manner. This will allow drivers to merge into traffic at the right time, avoiding the hassle of disrupting traffic at the last minute.
Google's @NewsFromGoogle handle on Twitter (formerly Twitter) provided official information about this feature, along with a GIF video demonstrating how the feature works. Google explains that the vehicle's AI-enabled system will analyze lane markings and road signs, and capture the correct lane using the car's front-facing camera. This real-time information will be instantly integrated with Google Maps' powerful navigation capabilities.
Where is this feature launching?
This AI-powered live lane guidance feature is first coming to the Polestar 4s in the US, and it's also set to be rolled out in Sweden in the coming months. While there's no information yet on when this feature will arrive in India, it may be useful for highway and expressway driving in India, but it's difficult to say how effective it will be for city driving.
