Google launches Flex Credit Card: Pay by scanning like UPI, get amazing rewards and EMI options...
After simplifying digital payments, Google Pay is now preparing to transform your credit needs. The company has launched 'Flex by Google Pay' in India. This is a digital, co-branded credit card specifically designed to meet the needs of today's generation. Google believes that the number of credit card users in India is still quite low, and 'Flex' will bridge this gap.
Payment facility linked to UPI
For this new service, Google Pay has partnered with Axis Bank. The Flex card will operate on the RuPay network. The biggest advantage is that you can link it to your UPI and make payments by scanning a QR code at any small or large store. You won't need to carry a physical card in your pocket.
5 major features of the Flex credit card
Completely digital: To apply for this card, you don't need to visit any bank or complete any paperwork. The application can be completed in just a few minutes through the Google Pay app.
Pay anywhere: Since it's on the RuPay network, you can use it to pay at millions of stores by scanning a QR code or for payments on your favorite online apps.
Instant rewards: You receive rewards in the form of Stars. Importantly, 1 Star is equal to 1 Rupee. You don't have to wait until the end of the month for these rewards; you can use them immediately in your next payment.
Flexible bill payment: You can pay your credit card bill either in one go or convert it into EMIs as per your convenience. All of this is possible within the app.
Complete control from the app: Card security is in your hands. You can set transaction limits, block/unblock the card, or reset your PIN directly from the Google Pay app.
How to apply?
Google Pay has kept the application process for the Flex card completely free of charge. The company has started rolling it out today. Currently, it's available to a select group of users, but it will be available to everyone in the coming months. If you'd like to try it, you can join the waitlist in the Google Pay app.
