Google: Google will now do your shopping for you, calling the shopkeepers itself...
Google AI shopping: Google has taken a major step to simplify online shopping. The company has launched several new AI (Artificial Intelligence)-based features in the US, which will be rolled out to other countries in the future. These new tools aim to make shopping faster, smarter, and more convenient. Now, users won't have to face the hassle of finding, comparing, and shopping as before.
Google's new updates have been rolled out to Search, the Gemini app, and AI Mode. Now, when you search for something, Google's AI will understand your language and return results that include product images, comparison tables, reviews, prices, and stock information. For example, if you type "best running shoes for flat feet," Google will provide a list that makes it easy to compare prices, features, and availability.
This is how you'll get the latest information.
Google says all this is made possible by its Shopping Graph, which contains information on over 50 billion products and updates 2 billion listings every hour. This means you'll always have the latest and most accurate information.
The Gemini app also now has a Shopping Assistant feature. You can ask questions about a product in chat, like affordable winter jackets or something else. You'll get instant results, including price, reviews, and comparison options. Sponsored results will currently only appear in Search's AI mode, but will soon be added to the Gemini app as well.
This is how Let Google Call works.
A unique feature, Let Google Call, has also been introduced. This feature is for those who want to know which stores have a product available near them. Simply search for an item by typing "near me," and Google's AI will automatically call the stores to find out if the product is in stock and its price. This call is made by an AI that identifies itself as an automated caller, and shoppers can opt out if they wish. Upon completion, the user is sent a summary containing information about all the stores.
Google is also rolling out an agentic checkout feature, which will make shopping virtually automatic. Let's say you're eyeing a specific product and want to buy it when its price drops… Google will track this for you. When the price reaches your budget, Google will alert you, confirm order and shipping details, and, upon your approval, complete the payment via Google Pay. This feature is currently being rolled out with major brands like Wayfair, Chewy, Quince, and Shopify.
Compare prices, check stock.
Google says that with these new AI updates, the most tedious parts of online shopping, such as price discovery, comparison, and stock checking, will now be fully automated. Users now only need to decide what they want to buy, and Google's AI will handle the rest. These features are currently rolling out in the US, but will gradually roll out globally.
These changes clearly demonstrate that Google is no longer limiting shopping to search, but rather transforming it into a complete "smart assistant" experience. Shoppers no longer need to worry about prices, call stores, or repeatedly access websites—everything will be available in one place, in one click.
