Google Chrome Users at Risk: CERT-In, the Indian government's cybersecurity agency, has issued a serious warning to Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox users.

CERT-In, the Indian government's cybersecurity agency, has issued a serious warning to Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox users. According to the agency, older versions of these browsers have been found to contain vulnerabilities that hackers can exploit to easily infiltrate users' devices, steal sensitive data, or inject malware into systems. The government has advised all users to update their browsers to the latest version without delay.

According to CERT-In's report, several technical vulnerabilities have been found in older versions of Google Chrome. These vulnerabilities are specifically found in versions older than 141.0.7390.54 for Linux and 141.0.7390.54/55 for Windows and macOS.

These bugs include heap buffer overflows in the WebGPU and Video sections, data leaks in the Storage and Tab modules, and incorrect implementations in Media and Drumbox. These vulnerabilities could be exploited by a cyber attacker, redirecting a user to a malicious website, gaining control of their system, and accessing personal information.

Similarly, several serious security loopholes have been discovered in older versions of Mozilla Firefox. Users with Firefox versions lower than 143.0.3 or older than 143.1 on iOS are advised to update immediately.

These versions contain vulnerabilities such as cookie storage isolation errors, integer overflow in Graphics Canvas2D, and JIT miscompilation in the JavaScript engine. If a user clicks on a malicious website or fake link, hackers can access passwords, banking information, or other personal data saved in their browser.

The government has categorized both of these issues as high-risk. CERT-In has clearly stated that users should immediately install the latest security patches for both Chrome and Firefox. Google and Mozilla have released their own updates to address these vulnerabilities. If you want to ensure your system is secure, you can visit CERT-In's official website for complete information about these vulnerabilities and security links.

Simply put, if you haven't updated your browser yet, your online security is at risk. So don't delay, update both Chrome and Firefox now and protect your data from cyberattacks.
