Good news for Jio subscribers: the company has launched voice plans starting at less than ₹147..
There is good news for Reliance Jio subscribers. The company has offered a gift to its customers just ahead of Diwali by launching affordable voice-calling plans. This will benefit those subscribers who use their phones primarily for calling. Data-inclusive plans are also available for subscribers. Let’s take a detailed look at these new plans.
Four new plans for those who only use voice calling
The company has introduced four new plans specifically for subscribers who use their phones only for voice calls. The entry-level plan is priced at ₹147 and comes with a validity of 22 days. Under this plan, subscribers get unlimited voice calls, along with 300 SMS. This brings the daily cost for calling to just ₹6.68.
₹177 plan offers 28 days of validity
Another voice-calling-focused plan is priced at ₹177 and offers a validity of 28 days. This plan also includes unlimited voice calling and 300 SMS. For subscribers of this plan, the daily cost of mobile usage comes to just ₹6.32.
₹196 plan offers 30 days of validity
The third plan is priced at ₹196 and provides 30 days of validity. It includes unlimited calling and 300 SMS. The daily cost for a user opting for this plan comes to ₹6.53.
₹197 plan offers validity for a full calendar month
The company has also launched a plan that offers validity for one calendar month, priced at ₹197. This means that with this plan, subscribers will have access to voice calling services for the entire month. Regardless of whether the month has 30 or 31 days, subscribers will be able to use voice calling and SMS services for the full duration of the month.
Bharti Airtel also launched 'voice-only' plans.
Previously, Bharti Airtel introduced plans specifically for voice calling. These 'voice-only' plans do not include mobile data. Airtel’s entry-level voice-only plan is priced at ₹185 and comes with a validity of 28 days; it also includes 300 SMS.
Airtel’s ₹203 plan offers 30-day validity.
Airtel has another voice-only plan priced at ₹203, which is valid for 30 days. Additionally, Airtel offers a 'calendar month' plan for ₹206, which remains active for the entire month—lasting 31 days if the month has 31 days. This means subscribers only need to recharge their mobile once a month.
TRAI issued directives to telecom companies
The telecom regulator, TRAI, had instructed telecom companies to introduce plans that do not include mobile data, giving them a deadline of October 21st to comply. The regulator issued this directive with the needs of mobile subscribers in mind—specifically those who use their phones exclusively for voice calls—a segment that is particularly large in rural areas.
