Users of Google accounts will now be able to change their email address. Google is rolling out this feature soon, meaning that if you don't like your current email address, you can now change it.

Google is rolling out a new feature for millions of Gmail users worldwide. Users will now be able to change their @gmail.com address. Google has been working on this feature for a long time to ensure that users don't face any difficulties in changing their email address. If you want a personalized email address instead of your existing one, you can change it. However, Google has set some conditions for this.

Google Account Username Will Change

According to a 9to5google report, if a user creates a Google account with a third-party email address, they will be able to change their Gmail address. However, users who already have a @gmail.com email address will not be able to change their address. This means that if your email address ends with @gmail.com, it cannot be changed.

The option to change the email address is not currently available on Google's support page. However, Google is gradually rolling out this feature. The Google post about changing email addresses was first spotted by a Google Pixel Hub group page on Telegram. Google stated that the email address linked to your Google account, which you use to log in, can be changed. You can change your @gmail.com email address to another @gmail.com email address. This means that the username of the email address can be changed.

Rules and Conditions for Changing Email Address

  • Google has stated that after changing your email address, you will receive emails on both the new and old addresses.
  • Changing your email address will not affect the data saved on your Google account, such as photos, videos, and emails. Users will only be able to change their old email address once every 12 months.
  • An account's email address can be changed a maximum of 4 times.
  • Addresses ending in @gmail.com can be changed a maximum of 3 times.
  • In some cases, the user's old email address will still be visible and cannot be used by anyone else. This means that even if you change the username of an email address, only you will be able to use it.
