YouTube Gifts Feature: YouTube has evolved into a platform where creators earn substantial income every month. From Shorts to long-form videos, the platform sees widespread usage across the country. Building on this, YouTube has launched a new feature in India that will enable creators to earn even more from YouTube Live. Yes, YouTube has introduced a feature called "Gifts," specifically designed for vertical live streams.
What is the YouTube Gifts feature?
According to media reports, this feature allows audiences to express support for their favorite creators by sending animated virtual gifts during live streams. It also opens up a new revenue stream for creators.
To make the feature even more engaging, YouTube has included gifts with themes tailored to Indian culture. Furthermore, the company has announced plans to introduce new seasonal gifts for festivals and special occasions in the future.
How can creators use it?
If a creator wishes to use this feature, they simply need to navigate to the "Earn" section within YouTube Studio. Once they accept the "Virtual Items Module" there, the Gifts feature will be activated. Please note that once enabled, Gifts will automatically become available on all eligible vertical live streams. However, the "Super Stickers" option will not be available on live streams where Gifts are active.
What are Jewels?
Alongside Gifts, YouTube has introduced a new digital currency called "Jewels." Audiences will first purchase Jewels and then use them to send Gifts during live streams. When an audience member sends a Gift, the creator receives "Rubies." Creators eventually earn revenue from these Rubies. In this way, audience support will become a new income stream for creators.
How it benefits
You might be wondering how users will benefit from this new feature. In fact, YouTube's new 'Gifts' feature can prove beneficial for both audiences and creators. While it offers the audience a new way to express their reactions during live streams, it simultaneously provides creators with a new source of income.
