Get a refund even after recharging the wrong number; Airtel and Jio users should learn this method today..
Recharging the Wrong Number: Accidentally recharging the wrong mobile number is a common issue. Previously, recovering money in such cases was nearly impossible, but now Reliance Jio and Airtel offer their customers the facility to reverse incorrect recharges. However, this facility comes with certain conditions. Submitting a request promptly increases the chances of obtaining a refund.
What Jio Users Should Know
If you have recharged the wrong number via the MyJio App, the transaction can be reversed. However, this facility applies only to recharges made through the MyJio App; it is not available for recharges made via Paytm, PhonePe, or other third-party platforms. Crucially, the reversal request must be made immediately after the recharge. Reports indicate that this option is typically available for only about three hours.
How to Reverse an Incorrect Recharge via MyJio App
To reverse an incorrect recharge, first open the MyJio App and log in to your account. Navigate to 'Transaction History' and select the recent incorrect recharge. If the reversal option is available, tap on "Cancel Plan." Then, select the appropriate reason, choose your refund method, and submit the request. Once the request is accepted, Jio will process the refund to your original payment method or account.
What Should Airtel Users Do?
If an Airtel number has been recharged by mistake, a complaint can be filed via the Airtel Thanks App. Alternatively, customers can seek assistance by calling 121 or the toll-free number 198. To do this, go to the 'Help & Support' section in the Airtel Thanks App and select the "Facing issue with recent recharge" option. Next, navigate to the "Wrong & Accidental Recharge" or "Wrong Recharge Reversal" option. You will need to submit a request by providing details such as the Transaction ID, recharge date, amount, and the incorrect mobile number.
However, with Airtel, the reversal also depends on whether the balance or plan associated with the incorrectly recharged number has been utilized. This feature is quite useful.
Many people recharge the mobile numbers of their parents, children, or friends, and in their haste, they may select the wrong number. In such situations, this new feature can help protect customers from financial loss. However, since this facility is available for a limited time only, it is essential to take immediate action if a mistake occurs.
