Tech giant Google has also equipped its TV platform with AI. The company has released support for Gemini AI for Google TV. This means that Google TV will now include the Gemini Assistant, which was previously available on smartphones, tablets, and Workspace apps. With the new features, it will now come with features like movie and web series suggestions, natural language search, and YouTube learning integration.

Google TV Gets AI Upgrade
The company stated in a blog post that Gemini is currently available on the TCL QM9K series TVs. By the end of the year, it will also be rolled out to newer models like the Walmart onn. 4K Pro, 2025 Hisense U7, U8, UX, and TCL QM7K, QM8K, and X11K. Waiting times for older models may be slightly longer.

Suggestions based on mood and group
Gemini will now be able to suggest movies and shows based on a user's mood and genre preferences. Even if different people in a group have different tastes, it will suggest mixed-genre movies like comedy and drama. This will make the content viewing experience much easier.

Improved Search and Content Discovery
The biggest feature of Gemini is its ability to understand natural language. Now, users will be able to search for a show by its description, such as dialogue, scene, or song (Vague Descriptions). Additionally, it can recap previous seasons of shows, provide reviews, cast, and other details. This means that users will have complete information about the content before watching it.

The Opportunity to Learn New Skills Through YouTube
Gemini will not only provide entertainment, but also learning opportunities. If a user asks for a recipe, DIY project, or a new skill, it will immediately find and display relevant YouTube videos. This way, Google TV will become not only a source of entertainment but also a source of knowledge.
