Which method do you typically choose to check the balance in your Employee Provident Fund (EPF) account? For many, the answer would be to visit the official EPFO website, where they enter their UAN, password, and Captcha to access their details. However, there is a government-developed app that makes checking your balance incredibly fast and easy. The best part is that you don't need to enter a password or fill out a Captcha to use it. This government app is called UMANG. While many people may already be using it, for those who are unaware of its existence, we are here today to explain how you can use this app to check your PF balance.

**How to Check PF Balance: The UMANG App Can Help**
You can easily find this government app on both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. First, download and install the app on your phone. Next, log in to the app; if you are new to UMANG, you will need to register first. Once registered, you can log in using your mobile number and MPIN. If you do not remember your MPIN, you also have the option to log in using an OTP.

After logging into the UMANG app, type "EPFO" into the search bar and initiate the search. Click on "EPFO" within the search results; this will bring up a list of options, such as View Passbook, Raise Claim, Track Claim, Download UAN Card, UAN Activation, and more.

For instance, if you wish to check your PF balance, simply click on the "View Passbook" option.
In the next step, you will be prompted to enter your UAN.
After entering your UAN, you will be required to enter an OTP in the subsequent step.
Once you have entered the OTP, your passbook will open up on your screen. You can then click on the specific passbook you wish to view to check the balances held under the Employee Share, Employer Share, and Pension Contribution categories.
