Delhi Census 2026-27: Preparations for the census in Delhi have gathered momentum. This time, you will be able to personally submit details regarding your residence and standard of living via an online portal. Your information will remain strictly confidential. Ahead of the 2027 Census, the Delhi government has issued a detailed notification outlining the rules and citizens' responsibilities under the Census Act, 1948. The notification urges citizens to extend their full cooperation during the census and to adhere to the prescribed procedures. This notification was issued on April 6 by the Revenue Department of the Delhi government. It specifies the legal framework under which the census operations will be conducted within the National Capital. This notification follows directives issued by the Central Government. As part of the census preparations, the process of 'Self-Enumeration' is currently underway.
Delhi Census
This process will continue until April 15 in the areas falling under the NDMC (New Delhi Municipal Council) and the Delhi Cantonment Board. Subsequently, in the MCD (Municipal Corporation of Delhi) areas, the process will take place from May 1 to May 15. Furthermore, between May 1 and May 15, residents of the municipal areas will be able to personally submit this information online via the designated website. The House-Listing Operation (HLO)—the phase in which census officials visit homes door-to-door to collect data—commences only after the enumeration process is complete. Let us outline the questions that will be asked during the census and explain how residents in Delhi can personally submit their census details online.
